Located in Rustico and central to most any activity or destination on PEI, The Barachois is Prince Edward Island’s definitive five-star country inn, in every way — the authentic heritage of an 1880 home cast in the halo of St. Augustine’s imposing church steeples — beautifully appointed, rich with antiques, superb breakfasts, immersion in comfort and privacy, and the genuine hospitality of the MacDonald family.
The Barachois Inn consists of two main houses, the Gallant House (1880) and the MacDonald House, a newer facility offering four large suites that bring a modern feel to an historic era. These two houses provide our guests with the choice of eight different styles of private accommodations, from traditional Victorian rooms to luxury suites, with scenic vistas over the Island's north shore, winding waterways and our Victorian Garden. Suite 6, as well as the entrance to MacDonald House, was designed and built with accessibility in mind, with direct access from our parking lot to our entrance ramp.

Gallant House
The Historic Gallant House whispers of an elegant era gone past; a simpler time in Prince Edward Island's rich history is reflected in every detail. The host home to the main facilities of the Barachois Inn, our Gallant House hosts a lovely main dining area where guests congregate for breakfast, delightful parlours and four Victorian style suites. All accommodations in the Gallant House are located on the second and third floors, offering a breathtaking panoramic vista of the Island's famed North Shore and its winding waterways.
